This novel ornamental stone, extracted from the region of Tuscany, was originally used for scent bottles. Today, Louis Vuitton carries on this tradition: the box, with its beautifully rounded form, has been fashioned from Alabaster using the greatest savour-faire of Italian craftsmen. On the inside, volcanic Tuscan stones are delicately fragranced with fig tree sap. The essence, which evokes memories of Mediterranean aromas, comes from the traditional region of Grasse (south of France), famously known for its perfumes. The exceptional properties of Alabaster ensure a gradual diffusion of the fragrance through its translucent exterior, which ensures this pure object is truly decorative. The lid is adorned with subtly printed monogram flowers.
